Aesthetic and plastic surgeon Doctor Roman Merle performs hyaluronic acid injections in Antibes. This medical aesthetic treatment can help to correct certain aspects of facial aging.
When are hyaluronic acid injections appropriate?
Hyaluronic acid has become the reference treatment in aesthetic medicine: it is a substance that is completely biodegradable and non-allergenic and gives instant and long-lasting results. Hyaluronic acid can be used:
– to fill in wrinkles: for lines on the forehead, frown lines (between the eyebrows), crow’s feet lines, wrinkles on the cheeks, the chin or around the mouth,
– to reduce creases or furrows on the face: from the nose down to the corner of the mouth, “marionette” lines and furrows on the chin.
– to redefine the lips and make them plumper
– to fill in any unsightly hollowing on the face: cheekbones, under the eyes, cheeks, any scarring
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin. Over time, its quality lessens, as does its ability to react: the skin becomes drier, fine lines and wrinkles start to appear. Hyaluronic acid injections will help to turn back the clock.
Hyaluronic acid injections
Hyaluronic acid injections are carried out using syringes or micro-cannulas, depending on the area and volume to be injected. Sessions can last from 10 minutes to 1 hour, usually without anaesthetic, unless dealing with a sensitive area.
Dr Merle will use several injections according to the desired result and will be able to treat different areas at the same time if necessary, during the same session. Results should be visible in a few days, once any bruising has disappeared and the hyaluronic acid has settled into the skin. Results will last from 6 to 12 months. Additional sessions may be needed to maintain the results.
What to expect following a hyaluronic acid injection session ?
Soit directement derrière la glande, en avant des muscles pectoraux
(positionnement prémusculaire)
Soit plus profondément, en arrière des muscles pectoraux
(positionnement rétromusculaire)
For 6 hours after the injection(s) it is advisable to relax and not to move the treated area too much. Some minor swelling and redness may appear over the first 3 days to 1 week when injecting into the lips.
Can other treatments be combined with hyaluronic injections ?
For overall anti-aging treatment of the face, Dr Merle can also propose injections of botulinum toxin, a chemical peel or a radio frequency treatment.
